My name is Sumangala Viresh. I am a homemaker, a mother to two sons, and a teacher for the past six years. Growing up in a family that owned a business, I have always been fascinated by the world of entrepreneurship. I'm particularly passionate about fashion design and have extensive knowledge of fabrics. I have been wearing sarees since my college days and have a great knack for choosing the perfect one. My family and friends have always admired my saree selection, and on many occasions, they have even asked me to purchase good sarees for them whenever I travel. I have turned my hobby into a business venture called Banashri, humbly supported by my family in building the brand and technologies this demands. It is my way of sharing my carefully curated collection of sarees with women and helping them enjoy every moment of draping themselves in these beautiful garments.

The name of our brand, Banashri, originates from two Indian words - "Bana" and "Shri". "Bana" means forest or woods, while "Shri" means beauty or elegance. Banashri is also inspired by the divine goddess Banashankari, who embodies qualities such as strength, beauty, and wisdom. Just like the goddess symbolizes feminine power and resilience, Banashri represents the essence of womanhood - bold, brilliant, and boundless. Therefore, the name Banashri perfectly aligns with and represents the beauty and elegance of sarees that draw inspiration from the natural beauty of the forest.
